I went to see AWAY WE GO Friday night…and it was awesome! It is the hetero romantic comedy movie that has needed to happen for a loooooooooong time. So cute, so funny, so feminist.

So it IS pro-feminist? The part in the trailer where he says “I’ll love you even if it takes months to lose the weight” really put me off. Out of context?

Yes…it IS pro-feminist. I took that part as him sweetly joking with her. And she’s totally in on it. If you go see it, I’ll explain my reasoning further…because there’s a part later where they discuss weight issues with females.

Saw it this weekend- loved it. Extremely well-written, sweet and funny. Made me want to get knocked-up, oddly enough (I blame all Maya’s rockin sun dresses).
